Embracing Us!

As much as I hate to admit it, reading the Bible daily is very difficult for me.  I like to pretend like I’m this great Bible scholar but, the truth is, many days I simply log onto BibleStudyTools.com and read one verse.  Even though I know how ugly and wicked this world can be, I’m not always equipped with spiritual strength when things happen.  So that’s where a network comes into play.

Sometimes things are easier when they are done in a group.  Obviously, I can’t create your spiritual life for you and you can’t create my spiritual life for me, but isn’t it possible for us to work as a team to improve our spiritual lives collectively?  And if we can help each other in this area, is it possible that we can work together as a team in other areas of our lives?

That’s why the thought of having a network of women enhancing our lives together is so exciting to me.  As a group, we will explore the characteristics and dynamics of powerful stories in the Bible.  This Bible study will not be set up as teacher led and student supported because I do not consider myself a Bible scholar by any stretch of the imagination.  Instead, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will analyze and explore the text and every member has the opportunity to participate and express what the Holy Spirit reveals to them.  I will create what I think are thought-provoking questions that should enhance the dialogue.  Many sights do this but we will extend our lessons beyond the pages of the Bible.  It is my dream for us to apply the lessons learned from these Bible studies to our everyday lives so that we will grow and bless our families. 

If you are interested in challenging yourself and working toward becoming more like the woman GOD wants you to be, please join us.  Our first lesson will be available immediately and we will be studying the book of Esther. Please take the time to study the verses (it’s only 10 to start). If it’s GOD’s will our discussions will begin Thursday January 3, 2019.

Before we begin, I want each member to take a picture of herself for a personal record to reflect upon the progress you will make in 2019. We will have a reflection day at the end of the year to assess the challenges we faced and the obstacles we overcame as a family. Feel free to post your pictures if you would like some encouragement or you simply want your online sisters to know who you are. I would also like for each of us to find some type of journal to record our reflections.  I want us to note the changes a year can bring month by month.  We will note whether or not our faith improved, our family lives got better and our bodies got stronger.  This is our challenge for the year 2019.
